6th grade - Daily habits

Level: basic
Affective: to talk about themselves.
Linguistic: to speak about habits.
Suggested size of groups: Groups of four
Material: Hand-outs of a chart to be completed by the student.
Duration: About 35 minutes.
Procedure: A) Divide the class in groups of four, then give each group a hand-out.
B) Students are supposed to fill in the chart according to their habits. Take for example the daily action "go to school", the group decides when they go to school and write the answer in the appropriate column: in the morning, in the afternoon, or at night.
C) Now the whole class plays "ping-pong". A member from one group asks a member from another group, for example, "What do you do in the morning?". The second student answers, then it is his turn to ask a member of another group a question, who in turn has to answer and then ask someone another question. In the end the questions and answers ping-pong around the class giving everyone a chance to practice his English.
