5th grade - Activity - Who are you?

Aims: to ask a person´s name and spelling.
Affective purpose: to have fun and excitment.
Linguistic purpose: to practice spelling names.
Material: pictures of famous people or slips of papers with their names.
Number of students involved: small circles of six students.
Duration: 15 minutes.
Procedure: Teacher gives each student a cut-out depiciting a famous person (or slips of papers) and tells the students that they are those people now. After that, one should start asking the other about his/her name and its respective spelling.
As for example:
A: What´s your name?
B: XUXA
A: How do you spell it?
B: X-U-X-A
Follow up activity: ask students whether they like those people or not. Then, have them give their opinion and say who else they like on TV.
